Welcome to Rose Writing Center!
We’re thrilled to have your child join us.
There are a few things to do to get ready to learn with us.
✎ Step One: Complete Form
We’d love to learn more about your child’s goals and learning style. Please take a moment to fill out our Extended Intake Form so we can tailor our approach and help your child succeed.
đź““ Step Two: Order Materials
If you are not sure what you need, please email info@rosewritingcenter.com.
Required Materials
-
Writing Class
Email info@rosewritingcenter.com or contact your child's instructor directly if you are not sure which workbook to buy.
Grammar
If you have arranged for your child to study grammar with us, please obtain the appropriate workbook from the list below. Again, if you are not sure, reach out!
-
We highly recommend our IEW students obtain a copy of the Portable Walls for Structure and Style Students! This material allows students to create a writing station at their desks. It includes Unit Models and several word lists, including prepositions, strong verbs, substitutes for banned words, and more.
-
Students can use pen or pencil for their writing assignments. If pen, the ink should be black or blue. There is actually a good case for allowing younger students to write with pens - see here!
-
Any color is fine! Please have your child bring a highlighter to class each week.
Please obtain these materials before your first day of class.
Note: If you’re ordering from IEW.com and your workbook won’t arrive by the first class, call 1‑800‑856‑5815 to request a digital copy of the first lesson to print.
Recommended Materials
-
When you purchase your IEW theme-based workbook, you receive a downloadable Student Resource Packet. It is 100+ pages long. We suggest printing this packet and storing it in a binder. Alternatively, you can order a bound copy of the Student Resource Packet.
-
Private classes may incorporate poetry study from time to time depending on your goals and the plans we have made with you.
However, poetry memorization is generally a practice you can undertake on your own with minimal class time devoted to it! We encourage your family to make this wonderful practice a part of your routine, and you will experience a host of benefits.
-
A dictionary can help students determine the precise meanings of words, while a thesaurus can support students in expanding their active vocabulary and varying the language in their drafts. It is important to build the habit of referencing these texts! (We recommend paper books rather than digital resources for various reasons.)
-
This resource will be helpful to students in middle and high school. It is a concise, six-page, colorfully organized, durably laminated guide that covers the Modern Language Association’s rules of punctuation, reference citation, structure, and format.
Please let your instructor know if you purchase any of these materials. You are welcome to ask your child’s instructor for suggestions on which resources might be most helpful!

All charges will be billed to the payment method placed on file when you completed our registration form.
To make changes to your payment method, please log into your parent portal here.
Private Lessons: Tuition is billed on the 1st of each month for any lessons scheduled that month. If a student begins mid-month, billing will be weekly until the next 1st of the month, at which point it will shift to our regular monthly schedule. For example, if lessons begin on April 15, tuition would be billed weekly until May 1 and monthly thereafter.
Semi-Private Lessons: Tuition is billed on the 1st of each month. We require a one-month deposit and ask for one month’s notice to withdraw. For the student’s first month, the deposit and first month of tuition will be billed together. The deposit will be applied to the student’s final month.
Academic Year Group Classes: Tuition is billed on the 1st of each month. We require a one-month deposit and ask for one month’s notice to withdraw. For the student’s first month, the deposit and first month of tuition will be billed together. The deposit will be applied to the student’s final month.
Summer Group Classes: New families will be billed for summer tuition within 1–2 business days of registration. Existing families will be contacted directly with their summer schedule and payment details.
Workshops: Workshop fees are billed within 1–2 business days of registering.
