Magnets
By Olivia L, 2nd Grade
Magnets can help the maglev trains move. The fastest trains on the planet are powered by magnets. Magnetic levitation and maglev trains are high speed trains. Maglev trains hover on guide ways and don’t run on wheels and tracks. If two north poles or two south poles are next to each other the magnets push apart. The pulling force of the magnet creates a north pole and a south pole magnet.
Magnets have two poles, south and north. Magnet is a piece of metal that pulls another piece of metal towards it. Depending how the poles are placed, the magnetic fields will either push or pull from them. Magnets mostly contain materials such as iron and metal. Magnets do not work with cloth, paper, and wood because they are weakly magnetic.
