The Discovery of King Tut’s Tomb

The discovery of King Tut’s tomb was one of the most exciting and intriguing (qa) finds of all time. In 1922, Howard Carter, who (ww) was an adept (voc) British archaeologist, searched for King Tut in the vast (voc) Valley of the Kings. King Tut began his rule at nine years old and died ten years later, giving him the nickname “The Boy King”. While Howard Carter was searching, he unearthed (sv) a flight of stairs. He and his colleague, George Herbert, began excavation and soon afterwards found a tomb. The tomb was indeed of King Tut’s and surprisingly (ly) had not been damaged or touched. The treasures that they found filled four whole rooms, and the mummy, complete with a death mask, which was one of the most cherished (voc) artifacts, weighed twenty-two pounds. They spent several years removing all the treasures. King Tut, the little known king evolved into a world famous pharaoh because (bc) of the many treasures that were found near his coffin. The find of King Tut’s coffin fascinated the whole world.
